What do you mean by the ‘feeling without touching’ part of the process?

Yep, it’s part of the process. If you hold out a hand and close your eyes, and without touching anything, feel the shape and location of your hand in relation to your body— kinesthetic awareness. I’ve been ‘feeling’ one hand and using the other hand to draw it, with my eyes closed.
It’s also pretty heavily influenced by memory, knowing how I normally draw a hand and what hands look like (rather than feel like). So I’m working with that knowledge but also realising that it doesn’t directly relate to the way I’m drawing now, so it’s a push/pull relationship, sometimes agreeable and sometimes contradictory.
