How were these ones drawn?
They’re drawn using a shaving mirror in between myself and the paper, so that I can’t see the drawing as I’m doing it.
I am always interested in how hese ‘remote’ drawings turn out. They often look to me like some sort of psychological struggle is going on.
Fascinating stuff – at what point do you decide to stop drawing?

I think about this a lot, though I don’t know if I’ve got an absolute answer, I’ve just posted some of what I’ve been writing about it: https://rkarmel.com/2012/10/15/on-observational-drawing-while-looking-only-at-the-subject/ though I don’t know if that’ll make things any clearer or just show you that I really don’t know why I stop.
